90-day practice roadmap (build real progress)
Goal: Move from absolute beginner to performing 4 short songs (30–90 seconds each), with basic sight-reading and one technical study.
Days 1–14 — basics & routine
- Install Flowkey or Skoove; complete the “Beginner Course” and learn posture, finger numbering and 5 simple songs.
- Practice 20 minutes daily: warm-up (5 min), new material (10 min), repetition/performance (5 min).
Days 15–45 — repertoire & theory
- Start Playground Sessions modules for song-driven practice. Learn 2 short pop songs with right-hand melody + left-hand chord pattern.
- Add a 10-minute daily technical routine: 1 scale, 1 arpeggio, 1 hand independence exercise.
Days 46–75 — expression & interpretation
- Watch Lang Lang MasterClass modules on phrasing and musicality; apply these ideas to the songs you learned.
- Record one short video per week to track progress and focus on dynamics and rubato.
Days 76–90 — polish & performance
- Polish your 4 songs; prepare a short 8–12 minute mini-recital (recorded or live to family/friends).
- Create 3 short case notes: piece, practice challenges, solutions and results (this is your practice portfolio and shows learning methodology).
