90-day action roadmap (practice → polish → perform)
Goal: Move from nervous presenter to confident 10-minute presenter with a polished delivery and recorded case study.
Weeks 1–2 — baseline & structure
- Pick a signature 5–10-minute talk idea (one clear idea). Watch Chris Anderson’s TED’s secret for framing (embed above). Practice writing a single-idea outline. (TED)
Weeks 3–6 — technique & micro-practice
- Enroll in Coursera’s Introduction to Public Speaking modules for technique (voice, pace, movement, structure). Upload 2 short practice videos and collect peer feedback. (Coursera)
- Add daily Orai drills (5–10 minutes) to reduce filler words and tighten pace. (Orai)
Weeks 7–10 — live practice & iteration
- Join a local or online Toastmasters club: do at least 3 prepared speeches and 3 Table Topics sessions. Collect formal evaluations and iterate. (Toastmasters)
- Rehearse your talk in VirtualSpeech VR at least twice to practice eye contact, stage presence, and Q&A simulation. (VirtualSpeech)
Weeks 11–13 — polish & publish
- Record your final 10-minute talk in high quality, create a short case-study (problem, idea, technique used, audience reaction), and publish to your portfolio/LinkedIn.
- If pitching for work: combine Coursera certificate + Toastmasters progress evidence + VR analytics screenshot in a one-pager.
